Level 3 · From preparer to practice owner

Your skills.
Your own tax business.

Knowing how to prepare a return is one part of running a practice. Build a plan for the clients, systems, and decisions that surround the work.

Personal planning goal: $10,000 in monthly business revenue

Revenue is not take-home income. Demand is seasonal, expenses matter, and this goal is not a forecast or guarantee.

Level 3 solves the business-building problem

Good at tax.
Ready to run the practice?

A business owner needs more than technical ability. You need a way to bring in suitable clients, set clear expectations, organize the work, and grow without every task depending on you.

Getting the right clients

Define a specific client group and a service offer you can deliver well. Plan referrals, outreach, educational content, inquiry follow-up, and a clear route from interest to a paid engagement.

Onboarding and engagement letters

Map the steps from inquiry to acceptance, signed engagement, document collection, and kickoff. Clarify scope, responsibilities, deadlines, fees, payment terms, and additional work. Plan appropriate professional review of your engagement terms.

Systems that keep work moving

Build a consistent process for intake, missing-information requests, preparation, review, delivery, and follow-up. Track status and deadlines, set communication expectations, and identify secure tools for client documents.

Pricing and scope control

Account for complexity, review time, software costs, and overhead. Decide how to handle late documents, extra questions, amendments, and work outside the original engagement.

Scaling without losing quality

Understand your capacity before adding clients. Document repeatable steps, decide what to delegate, plan review responsibility, and build a workflow a team member can follow.

The owner’s bigger picture

Plan seasonal cash flow, follow-up outside filing season, client retention, and the boundaries that protect your time. Identify the operational bottlenecks that should be fixed before you grow.

These are the planned business-program focus areas. Final lessons, delivery, resources, pricing, and enrollment dates will be confirmed before purchase.
